Hi, I'm Lyla (서영),

I'm a PhD student at the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Australian National University (RSAA, ANU). I'm interested in understanding the evolution of galaxies by looking into their gas properties. For my research, I take both observational and numerical approach to draw a coherent picture of galaxies in the universe. On the observational side, I use radio polarization and I'm a member of the Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP) Polarisation Sky Survey of the Universe's Magnetism (POSSUM) team. On the simulations side, my scope of interest ranges from small-scale idealized simulations to large volume cosmological simulations.

I have completed my MSc in Astronomy from Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea, in 2018 supervised by Prof. Sukyoung Yi. Then I worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Victoria, Canada, for a year with Prof. Arif Babul. I'm currently in my PhD program at the Australian National University under the supervison of Prof. Naomi McClure-Griffiths. Soon, I will be moving to England to take a postdoctoral researcher position at the University of Oxford and work with Prof. Matt Jarvis and the MeerKAT International GHz Tiered Extragalactic Exploration (MIGHTEE) team.
