I will give a < 30-minute talk introducing the After Sloan-V (AS5) Survey. This is a next-generation dual-hemisphere spectroscopic program set to address major questions in astrophysics. Using optical and near-infrared instruments spanning a range of spectral resolutions, AS5 is designed to study both dynamic astrophysical phenomena and the structure and evolution of galaxies. Its science goals include characterising transient and variable phenomena across the sky, mapping the central and far side of the Milky Way, resolving the interplay between stars and gas in galaxies, and uncovering the origins of the chemical elements. These goals are pursued through four complementary survey components: the Dynamic Universe Explorer (DUE), Hidden Galaxy Explorer (HGE), Local Volume Mapper 2 (LVM2), and Atomic Genesis Explorer (AGE).
