In a number of conversations this year with our student and postdoc communities we have identified scientific discourse within RSAA, and sharing our research in an informal environment as missing parts of our scientific culture. With the aim of addressing this opportunity we are introducing a regular Stromlo Science Lunch. The Stromlo Science Lunch will be BYO, and held in the CSO common room on Fridays at 12.30pm during weeks alternate to the fortnightly BBQ. The format will include brief, informal presentations of several recently submitted papers led from RSAA. The idea is for the informal presentation to be led by the RSAA author followed by questions. There should be no need for additional preparation. In the week leading up to the Stromlo Science Lunch I will solicit papers for presentation. Please feel welcome to volunteer if you have a new result to describe. |
