"Structure and Dynamics of Stellar Populations in the Inner Galaxy"

Multiple stellar populations are found in the inner Milky Way, including some of the most ancient. In this talk I will give an update on the Milky Way’s bar, which dominates the gravitational potential in the Galaxy’s central 5 kpc, and discuss recent work on the structural and dynamical properties of stellar populations in this region and the constraints these place on their evolutionary history and origin.
