he Space Careers Wayfinder education program is an ANU and CSIRO collaboration featuring diverse space professionals across Australia to encourage high schoolers and other space enthusiasts to consider a career in space. The program features a dozen of short (5-6mn) videos presenting a wide variety of careers in the space sector. Engaging supporting material is included for high school teachers, career advisors, and students to use in the classroom to explore concepts and ideas relevant to the Australian Year 9 and 10 curriculum. I will explain how this program came to be, the complexities associated with selecting a diverse group of people to feature in the videos and later interview them in the midst of nation-wide COVID restrictions, what the programs aims to achieve and how you can help to share the word with your networks (schools, family, friends and colleagues). The videos feature two of our own space enthusiasts at the ANU AITC: Noelia Martinez Rey and Joice Mathew! |
