"Introducing Einsteinian Concepts to Students: The Einstein-First Project"

The Einstein-First project addresses the need to introduce Einsteinian concepts to students at an early age by developing tangible and tactile tools, such as models and analogies. These innovative teaching aids bridge the gap between complex theoretical concepts and students’ everyday experiences, fostering their interest and understanding of Einsteinian science. In this talk, I will share my 10-year journey of teaching Einsteinian concepts to primary and high school students, highlighting the impact on their understanding and how girls’ attitudes have changed towards learning physics. While the project has been running successfully in Western Australia, our goal is to extend its reach to all 9,500 schools across Australia. Additionally, I will discuss our newly funded project called "Quantum Girls," which aims to improve female students’ attitudes towards Quantum science. To achieve our objective, two projects were launched nationally in Canberra on 13th June.
