The MAVIS adaptive optics imager and spectrograph for the VLT, is being led by AITC, working closely with Astralis-AAO at Macquarie University and international partners in Italy, France and Germany. In March the MAVIS team completed the instrument Preliminary Design Review, and have just now received the formal report from ESO’s expert review panel. This overview presentation will briefly outline the MAVIS Science Case, provide an overview of the instrument design, report on the PDR outcomes and outline the team’s next steps on the path from here to first light. |
