"Fink broker enabling time-domain science with Rubin Observatory"

During the next decade, the Vera C. Rubin Observatory will obtain high-resolution optical images of the Southern Sky at unprecedented depths. Rubin public alert stream will communicate the detection of up to 10 million potential transient objects every night. Given the large data volumes of Rubin, it will be crucial to select promising events and automatically connect them with follow-up facilities and science teams. I will introduce the Fink broker which has been selected to receive the full Rubin alert stream. Fink is built on high-end technology that enables real-time selection of promising transients using machine learning and combining information from catalogues and surveys. Fink is already processing ZTF data and have ongoing collaborations in a wide science range. I will discuss the potential of connecting Rubin time-domain data with Australian facilities and the opportunities for cosmology and multi-wavelength and messenger astronomy.
