Kate Harriden and Renee Hartley will be coming to Mount Stromlo to hold a session on acknowledging Country. Kate is the co-ordinator of the Fenner Circle, a space for yarning about the interconnections between land, water, biota, climate and Indigenous cultures with a focus on understanding how these synergies can best inform our research and teaching. Kate is also a phd scholar and visiting indigenous fellow co-ordinator at the Center for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research (CAEPR). Renne is a Fenner Circle member and PhD Scholar with the Fenner School, studying landscape ecology. The session will be run in an informal manner. There will be time to listen and learn and time to engage and ask questions. This will be a safe space where no questions will be seen as ’silly’. To facilitate this, we will take a few minutes break somewhere in the middle of the session, when people will be able to write down questions anonymously if they feel more comfortable doing so. We are hoping to see a big turn up from all staffs and students to the session! |
