"The Role of Cosmic Rays in Multiphase Galactic Outflows"

Outflows of matter and radiation from galaxies play an important role in their evolution, and that of the circumgalactic environment. Cosmic rays and magnetic fields, as major components of the interstellar medium, can strongly influence that interaction - in the right circumstances. I will describe the plasma physics basis for cosmic ray driven galactic outflows, some its remarkable consequences and challenges, and future prospects.
