"Satellite and Debris Characterisation with Adaptive Optics Imaging (End-of-Thesis Colloquium)"

Space debris poses a significant risk to safe operations in space. Careful management of the space environment is required to prevent a Kessler Syndrome where a cascade of debris can leave regions of space inoperable. Adaptive Optics Imaging (AOI) is an AO system for characterisation of satellites and debris in low Earth orbit (LEO), and tracking objects in geostationary orbit (GEO). In this talk I will describe the work completed for my thesis which includes the design, build and operation of AOI.
