"Instrumentation Technology at ESO"

The development and application of cutting-edge technologies is a major part of the historical and current success of ESO Instrumentation. Although some technologies have significant in-house programmes, most developments occur outside either in industry or with partner-institutes and universities. In this talk I will give a brief overview of some of the recent and ongoing developments in areas such as adaptive optics, detectors and ELT sub-systems.
