"An Adaptive Optics Laser Guide Star Facility for Space Debris"
Space debris poses a significant threat to the near-Earth space environment, and has been a growing problem since the first satellite launch in 1957. The Space Environment Research Centre (SERC) is building an Adaptive Optics Laser Guide Star Facility (LGSF) to improve debris tracking abilities and eventually to enable laser pushing. In this talk I will present my work on several of the LGSF subsystems including the beam transfer optics and the beam centring loop. |
