"Galactic Bulge Review Talk for non-Bulge Astronomers"

I briefly review recent developments in Galactic bulge science for non-bulge Astronomers. Recent years have seen a precision mapping of the global parameters of the Galactic bulge such as the distance, structure, extinction, and metallicity-distribution function of the bulge. New areas of investigation including chemical tagging, chemodynamical families, dark matter mapping, and the search for the oldest stars in the Galaxy. In most of these areas, and in Galactic bulge research as a whole, ANU astronomers have played a leading role in defining, redefining, and leading bulge-related research.
