"The hunt for green DRAGNs"

A recent discovery from Radio Galaxy Zoo are “green double radio sources associated with a galactic nuclei (DRAGNs)”.These unique galaxies live between 0.2 < z < 0.3 with large [OIII] emission lines making these galaxies appear “green”. Recent observations with WiFeS have shown that these galaxies have a complex structure with high velocities (+/- 400 km/s) and high star formation rates (~1 star mass per year). AND they host luminous radio-loud AGN. Observational evidence illustrates the possibility of jet induced star formation. In this talk I will produce this evidence.
