Siding Spring Observatory (SSO) is the largest optical observatory in Australia and is an important site for astronomy, astrophysics and space science in Australia. The SSO Lodge
Please note that overnight accommodation is restricted for research activities on the site.The SSO lodge was destroyed in the Wambelong Bush Fire in January 2013. It has now been re-built and is accepting bookings. The new Lodge offers 18 private ensuite double rooms, combined with a library, lounge and seminar room, offering spectacular views over the Warrumbungle National Park. Bookings can be made via the reservation request form.
As at August 2017, the tariff is $165 (incl. GST) per room. This includes a continental breakfast, dinner and night lunch. If you are staying seven or more nights, the cost is reduced to $148.50 (incl. GST) per night. If you wish your room to be cleaned during your stay, a $15 cleaning fee will apply.
