Lesson 1: Plotting Data with Excel
Excel (and similar spreadsheets such as LibreOffice and Numbers) is very useful for playing with small amounts of data. If you find yourself handling large amounts of data, you are usually better off using a real programming language such as Python, and we will come to that later.
In this lesson, you will learn how to plot and fit data with error bars in Excel.
Unfortunately, details of how to plot error bars differ between different apreadsheets and even different versions of Excel. The instructions here are for Office 2010 (on PCs) and Office 2011 (for Macs).
You have a choice of how to proceed - you can either look at printed notes or a set of three short webcasts.
