The SkyMapper Telescope

 

Being constructed by Electro Optic Systems Australia, the SkyMapper telescope is a modified cassegrain in design

1.35m primary mirror
0.71m secondary (on 5 axis mount)
0.56m aspheric corrector
2 additional spherical correcting elements

All transmissive optics are made of fused silica for UV throughput.

Telescope will be housed in a 11.5m tall, 6.25m diameter dome.

Telescope will be sited at Siding Spring Observatory near the summit of Siding Spring Mountain, as shown below..
