An Integrated Faint Survey

• Taking advantage of best observing conditions can reduce exposure times for faint galaxies by up to 2.
• A faint redshift survey is very efficiently carried out as a good-seeing override on a larger bright survey.
• Plan to use 10% of total allocation ( subarcsec seeing) to measure redshifts for 6000 galaxies to R=21.
• This is 5 to 10 larger than existing redshift surveys to this depth.
• Will provide longer redshift baseline (=0.3) for examining evolution of galaxy population and its large-scale structure.
• Considerable added-value to the science of the bright survey for little extra observational cost.
