The Center for Astrophysics Supernova Search
The Harvard Center for Astrophysics has been conduction a supernova search for many years. The latest part, the CfA3 search, has discovered and imaged over 200 nearby type 1a supernova. One of the unique things of this search is not only its optical coverage, but also its imaging in the infrared. This data set will allow me to compare the properties of the host galaxies as is measured in the optical and the infrared. Since the infrared is also not affect by dust, I can get a unique glimpse into the host galaxies and their properties.
