The MAGMO HI absorption processing project is a pilot study for moving processing from the manual techniques of the last generation of Galactic HI surveys (eg SGPS) to the automated approach needed for the GASKAP project. During the project I analysed the absorption spectra extracted from high spectral and angular resolution HI observations taken in 440 Galactic plane fields using the Australia Telescope Compact Array. In this talk I will discuss the science findings of the project and the processing techniques used. |
