"Hidden GeMS: observing with the Gemini multi-conjugate adaptive optics system"

The Gemini multi-conjugate adaptive optics system (GeMS) deploys five laser guide stars and up to three natural guide stars, for better-than-Hubble resolution of ~ 90 milli-arcseconds in Ks-band across the field of view of the RSAA-built Gemini South adaptive optics imager (GSAOI). I will present a user’s view of observing with this complex instrument, and make recommendations for getting the most out of your GeMS/GSAOI data.
