We have installed a secure WWW server to deal with registration and payment details for the meeting. The links to our registration form all use the secure server (check that the URL for the registration form begins with `https:' instead of `http:').
When you link to the form you will get a warning notice which informs you that although the site uses encryption to protect exchanged data, the site certificate is self-signed rather than signed by a recognised authentication service. This is not a problem, but if you wish to be sure that you are indeed contacting our secure server you may email us (pn_symp@mso.anu.edu.au) the certificate fingerprint (found under More Info on the New Site Certificate pop up) for verification.
This should not really be necessary, however, and you can simply follow the prompts offered by your browser and accept the site certificate. If you are using Explorer as a browser, your information should still be safe, despite the disconcerting messages you will be getting.
