Construction of the SkyMapper Telescope

The Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics is constructing a new telescope, called SkyMapper, at Siding Spring Observatory.

The camera is mounted on top of our 2.3 metre telescope. The 2.3m telescope building rotates when in use at night, but it is parked at the same orientation at the end of each night's observing and we've arranged things so that the web camera will point at the SkyMapper construction site during the daylight hours. If for some reason the dome is moved during the day, then your view may vary!
