This exercise was run at a winter school of Australian astrophysics grad students, and was designed to acquaint them with current progress in the study of high redshift galaxies. The class were divided into 11 groups. Their briefing papers are listed below.
One group (representing the IAU) had the unenviable task of organising and chairing the meeting: their briefing paper is different in format, and is listed first below.
