TARGET OF OPPORTUNITY OVERRIDES:
SCHMIDT/PETERSON have been granted multiple overrides for GRB events. Each one:
up to 1 hr on the DBS (no grating change); up to 2 hr on the 40"; up to 1 hr when CASPIR is at Cassegrain, up to 1.5 hr when
CASPIR is at Nasmyth B. However, there is a maximum of 1 override per observer run on the 2.3m, and 2 on the 40".
Schmidt et al are to contact the observers with clear instructions, and offer joint authorship to the observer
(one person) on the publication of the observations.
SCHMIDT ET AL have also been granted multiple overrides for nearby supernova studies. Each one:
up to 1 hr on the DBS (no grating change), observations no closer than every 3rd night; up to 30 min on the 40", observations no closer than
every 2nd night. Multiple overrides per observer are possible within these constraints.
Schmidt et al are to contact the observers with instructions. They will offer to use their time allocation on the 2.3m to pay back observers.
NORRIS & BAILEY 5-11 Dec: Bailey is scheduled to use CASPIR at Nasmyth B for evening twilight. Bailey shall have completed all observations
by the end of Astronomical Twilight so that Norris can take control of the telescope at this time.
