1 Purpose

The Acceptance Test Plan describes the inspections, demonstrations, and tests leading to acceptance of the Near-infrared Integral Field Spectrograph, consistent with the requirements of the instrument.

 

The required contents of the Acceptance Test Plan are described in clause 4.3(b)(10) of Exhibit A, “Statement of Work”, of the NIFS Design and Fabrication Contract.

3 Introduction

This document describes the acceptance test plan for the Gemini Near-infrared Integral Field Spectrograph (NIFS). It contains the following components:

·           A summary matrix listing all of the requirements with an indication of how each requirement will be verified.

·           Descriptions of the procedures for each inspection, demonstration, and test to be performed in sufficient detail to allow AURA to evaluate the appropriateness of each procedure.

·           Descriptions of the inspections, demonstrations, and tests to be performed after arrival at the delivery location to confirm that NIFS continues to meet the specifications after transportation.

·           Descriptions of the facilities and resources that will be needed at the delivery location to support assembly and testing of the instrument after it has been delivered.

 

4 Verification Methods Matrix

The matrix below relates each of the requirements listed in the NIFS Functional and Performance Requirements Document (FPRD; SDN0003.02) to a method of verifying compliance described elsewhere in this document. The NIFS FPRD includes all requirements listed in the NIFS Operational Concept Definition Document (OCDD; SDN0003.01). This in turn includes the requirements stated in the NIFS Design and Fabrication Contract.

 

Notes:

1. Parts of NIFS are built to designs by the University of Hawaii (UH) and parts of the OIWFS are manufactured at UH. These designs have been accepted without analysis by the NIFS developers.
