The Yale-Columbia

The Yale-Columbia telescope

The Yale-Columbia was a 27" refractor. Until 1998, it was used in a long term project measuring stellar parallaxes to calculate distances and proper motions of nearby stars. It was destroyed in the firestorm of 18 January 2003.
