Mt. Stromlo on Fire

Dear Ken and collegues from Mt. Stromlo,

on behalf of all my collegues from Goettingen Observatory/Germany
I like to tell you how appalled we are to receive the terrible news of
the destruction of Mt. Stromlo observatories, facilities and of your
homes.

Be sure we feel with you -- even though it is almost impossible for us
to imagine the full extent of this catastrophe -- happening at a time
when many of you certainly were very busy to prepare the IAU General
Assembly and related Symposia, to which you invited us so kindly!

We will be happy to join into a hopefully world-wide campaign of
astronomers to support reconstruction and recovery.
