Dear Gary,  Ken and Mike,

As I am sure you have already heard from hundreds of friends worldwide, we
are all very saddened by the horrific events of last weekend that are
affecting you and all of our friends in Canberra.  In Canada everyone is
discussing, how can we help? I imagine that will become clearer as the plans
for rebuilding Mt Stromlo develop. Please share any suggestions that we as
individuals, institutions or government agencies might consider.  

Betty joins me in sending both our condolences and our best wishes as you
face the unimaginable challenges ahead.
