Laserdyne : David Baker

Gabe,

You will receive this when you get back.  I saw the devastation of Mt Stromlo on the news last night.  The only word I can use is-  heartbreaking.

Your jobs will get done in due course as I have previously advised.  Once you get some sort of office and computer facility let me know and I will re-email all our correspondence etc over the past 12 months or so.  As far as money you owe us, there is nothing as it stands.  You can advise your financial people that as far as we are concerned we are all square to date.  I  will send you copies of your purchase orders when you advise.

Regards

david

Gabe,

Yes I saw what had happened but was unsure as to exactly how it affected you.  Since you were on holidays I wasn't sure how to contact anyone.  I rang Mike Bessel on the home number he gave me and spoke with his wife.  It didn't sound good but I was going to sit on your jobs until you advised what to do.

I lived in Canberra for 5 years while doing my undergrad so I know the place fairly well and can understand that if a fire got hold in some of the forests there could be problems. Do you have anything left of your workshop?  Alan Fry had told me that the equipment you had in there was second to none and would be a tragedy if all that went too, let alone the fact that the telescopes look like they're written off.  At least your house was spared.

Give me a bell when you are back in some semblance of order.  It must be very dissapointing to see so much work and effort dissappear this way.

With best wishes

david
