Subject: The terrible news from Stromlo

Dear Friends --

I just heard (by way of Brad Gibson) of the terrible destruction that the
wildfires have heaped on Mt. Stromlo.  I understand that a number of houses
(perhaps most ?)  on the mountain are gone, including Mike's.  There is little
more to be said at the moment other than to offer my heartfelt wishes for the
safety of everyone involved, and my condolences for the regretable loss of
possessions, etc.  This is all a terrible, terrible shock.
