Dear Brian,

I'm not sure if there is still email access for Stromlo accounts but I
thought I'd try anyway. I just wanted say how upset I was to hear of the
terrible destruction at Mt Stromlo and in the nearby suburbs. I hope you
and your family are safe, and nobody was hurt in the fires. Please send my
condolances to any astronomers who also lost their homes - I understand
there were a few.

It may sound silly, but if there is anything that can be done from
England, please let me know. I wish I was back home to help out.
