Comparison of a synthetic radio image and quasar 3C 48 Comparison of a synthetic radio image (left panel) derived from the movie "Movie 1" and a VLBI image of the qusar 3C 48 (the second quasar discovered). Features in the image of the quasar are reproduced in the simulation. In particular, the bright radio emitting regions are identified with shock waves in the simulation.
