The Sun's spots, flares, prominences and coronal mass ejections provide us with graphic demonstrations of the importance of magnetic
phenomena in a stellar atmosphere. These phenomena have been observed on young solar-type stars but on a much larger scale. We study these
young Suns to gain a better understanding of the underlying processes that drive stellar magnetic fields and activity cycles. |
