Like hunting for needles in a celestial haystack, tonight's observers are trying to track down the elusive coolest and least massive members of the young star cluster (eta) Chamaeleontis (the Chamaeleon) from the millions of stars in the southern sky. Using the spectra of our candidate stars we can discover how old they are and how fast they are moving through space. |
