The AAO/UKST H Galactic Plane survey uncovered a rich vein
of 'planetary nebulae' (PN), ghostly relics of old stars.
Our PN catalogues have impacted significantly on many aspects of PN research.
WiFeS spectroscopy will help unravel the detailed form of the PN luminosity function and in particular help address the problem of understanding the bright end cut-off in such an old stellar population. |
