Project Description: |
We are observing several giant elliptical galaxies in massive galaxy clusters, which are surrounded by extensive, bright filamentary nebulae. These are probably created by the black hole in the centre of the galaxy interacting with the material in the galaxy and in the cluster and we are studying mechanisms for how this occurs using a brand new instrument called WiFeS -- the Wide Field Spectrograph. |
