The AAO/UKST H Galactic Plane survey has uncovered a rich new vein
of 'planetary nebulae' (PN), ghostly gaseous relics of old stars.
Our large catalogues will impact significantly on many aspects of PN research.
High quality 2.3m PN spectroscopy across different Galactic environments gives structural clues on the form of the Galaxy and
provide kinematical probes to trace the Galaxy's evolution. |
