Project Description: |
The 40 inch is being used to night to search for stars that were amongst
the first stars formed in our galaxy. They will be identified by having extremely
weak Calcium absorption lines in their spectra. The exact composition of these
stars will need to be measured using the giant Gemini telescopes in Chile. |
