We are using the 2.3m telescope to search for some of the first stars to form in the Universe. These stars are first selected from the SkyMapper catalogue and then scrutinised by the 2.3m spectrograph. We seek to understand the properties of the first stars -- where did they form? How did they die? And how did they contribute to the assembled Milky Way we see today. |
