Project Description: |
We are searching for the oldest stars in the Galaxy, to investigate
how the Galaxy has formed, and where and how the chemical elements have
formed. The oldest stars can be recognized by a very low content of
so-called metals (i.e., all elements heavier than helium, e.g. calcium)
in their atmospheres, which we measure with spectra. |
