Honours astrophysics students in the School of Mathematical Sciences at Monash
University observe the surface brightness profiles of globular clusters with the
aim of understanding why Nature distributes the stars in such clusters the way
it does. By the end of their projects they will have made empirical models using
their data, and mathematical models using Newton's laws of motion and gravity.
