The 2dF Optical corrector
Three optical designers had input:
- Charles Wynne, Richard Bingham, Damien Jones
Design goals:
- 2o field
- 1” image quality
- ?4 elements
- Broad wavelength coverage
- Flat focal plane if possible
Main problems
- Non-telecentricity of design (up to 4o )
- Chromatic variation of distortion (at the 1arcsec level)
- Atmospheric dispersion
