ESP local void: consistency with all-sky redshift surveys
<n> from PSCz shows clear asimmetry btw. North and South galactic caps, especially within the LCRS/ESP zone
<n> in PSCz increases significantly for r > 250 h-1 Mpc (Springel 1998)
Similar behaviour seen in IRAS 1.2Jy
Asimmetry is also found in the CfA2 LF normalisation btw N. Gal. cap and S. Gal. cap (Perseus-Pisces) parts (Marzke et al.)
Conclusion: we seem to live within a large underdensity, with size > 250 h-1 Mpc and amplitude dr/r~0.5 in terms of visible matter.
Is this compatible with direct clustering measures?
