ESP local void: consequence for number counts
Counts in the EDSGC over the ESP area (filled dots) are steep, as in the APM catalogue
Solid line: expected counts, given the global ESP luminosity function
Dashed line: expected counts, when the behaviour of the mean density is taken into account
The agreement with the APM counts implies that the underdensity extends over most of the South Galactic cap area !
